DEATH-POP SYNTH-PUNK ERUPTION // ORGY 'BLUE MONDAY' (CANDYASS 1998)
JAY GORDON • Elementree / Reprise Records Official Broadcast

Death-Pop high-voltage collision: New Order post-punk melancholia rewired through Roland guitar synthesizers, distorted 5-string bass, and industrial club mosh pits.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1994 by vocalist/producer Jay Gordon and guitarists Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh, soon joined by bassist Paige Haley and drummer Bobby Hewitt. The first band signed to Elementree Records, Orgy shattered alternative rock conventions with their platinum 1998 debut 'Candyass' (featuring their iconic industrial-synth reinvention of New Order's 'Blue Monday' and 'Stitches') and their sci-fi concept album 'Vapor Transmission' ('Fiction (Dreams in Digital)', 'Opticon').

Jay Gordon, Ryan Shuck, Amir Derakh, Paige Haley, and Bobby Hewitt detonate New Order's 'Blue Monday' with crushing Roland guitar synthesizers and industrial sub-bass.
